How does Securestor24 backup work?

The SS24 Backup Manager is loaded onto the device you want to backup. You define what you wish to backup and set this to a schedule. Your information is encrypted and then sent to our secure data centres miles apart.


How secure is my data?

Extremely – before it leaves your internet connection it is compressed and encrypted then transported in an encrypted tunnel.  Only after your data has been encrypted is it sent to our data centres, which boasts high levels of security ranging from 24 hour CCTV and multiple access levels.  The encryption level is stronger than most banking transactions and can only be decrypted by your private key.



How much space do I require?

Your data is compressed, so you may have 5GB of data (Depending on what this data is) it can compress down to less than half. We’ll know what you need once you have tried our data backup solution free for 30 days



I am not on Broadband, how fast does my connection need to be?

On your first backup, Securestor24 will backup all you data. On subsequent backups only the changes will be backed up. So a fast internet connection is not required. If you feel you have too much data to backup over the internet – we provide a service to backup your data onto removable storage and place it directly onto our storage servers. On your next scheduled backup only the changes will be sent over the internet. 



How many times a day can I backup my information?

You can backup as many times a day as you like, at no extra cost - we encourage backing up your data at least twice a day. At mid day and after working hours, this provides good business continuity in the event of a disaster.



Can I backup E-Mails, Databases, etc.?

How do I restore a file or all of my data?

There are multiple ways to restore a file. Primarily by logging into your account on the SS24 secure website, you can choose individual files, folders or all your data to restore. If you are a ‘Business’ or ‘Enterprise’ customer we can provide your data on removable storage or contact us to enquire about or professional restore service.

Can I use your service even though we use Apple Macs?

I am a home user can I still use SecureStor24?

Yes you could use our SOHO products, however if you do not have frequently changing data then CD/DVD’s should be sufficient.



I don’t believe I need to backup.

No doubt you’re concerned about cost implications etc, is it really worth t he risk can you afford not to backup your data offsite.

I backup my information once a week/month, why change?

It is recommended to backup your data on a frequent basis. One day’s work may well cost you more than one month’s SecureStor24 fee? You may also overwrite your backup file – SecureStor24 allows you to retain your previous versions (Default of a week) so you can go back in time if need be.
